Implementing the EU Directive on Certain Aspects of Mediation in Civil and Commercial Matters, the German Mediation Act is the first codification of mediation and related provisions in German law. Mediation may therefore be regarded as a more established standard in dispute resolution and gain relevance for business decisions.
