In July 2012, the Minister of Mines of the Democratic Republic of Congo (“DRC”), which holds some of the world’s largest deposits of copper and cobalt and significant reserves of other minerals, has announced that the Mining Code, adopted in July 2002 with a view to attracting investments, is shortly to be revised in order to remedy its deficiencies.
