In the face of a looming deadline and industry pressure, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (the “Commission”) approved interim final rules deferring until May or July of 2013, depending on the requirement, the compliance date for key business conduct, reporting, recordkeeping, and documentation requirements for swaps under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (the “Dodd-Frank Act”).
