New York of counsel Mark Kessel wrote an article, titled “Clarion Call for Diagnostics,” that was published by BioCentury on July 27.
In this article, Kessel discusses the need to enhance diagnostics as a first line of defense against existing and emerging infectious diseases such as the Ebola epidemic and SARS. “A broad coalition of stakeholders, including diagnostic-focused product development partnerships, the WHO, governments, ministries of health and public and private donors—if collaborating regularly—can leverage their respective resources and expertise to enhance the development, introduction and rapid uptake of a new diagnostic,” Kessel maintains.
