On February 3, 2017, President Trump signed an Executive Order entitled “Core Principles for Regulating the United States Financial System.”

Set out below is an annotated version of the Executive Order, that includes commentary from Shearman & Sterling financial regulatory attorneys on specific potential legislative or regulatory measures that may be implicated by each of the Core Principles.
