Shearman & Sterling has launched a new podcast called Barrier Blasters, a series dedicated to enhancing diversity and inclusion in the communities in which we live and work. The podcast will feature conversations with individuals and industry leaders who have challenged the status quo, broken through barriers, and in doing so, have created opportunities for others.

Part two of our latest Barrier Blasters episode is a continuation of the first part of the mentorship and sponsorship panel discussion during the firm’s Global Inclusion Network Conference. Featuring senior associate Jonathan Toffolo and partners Paula Anderson, Kieran Kieckhefer, Derrick Lott, and Gillian Emmett Moldowan, the conversation touches on establishing mentorship and sponsorship relationships as well as ways to cultivate them.

Our latest two-part Barrier Blasters series was recently recorded during Shearman & Sterling’s Global Inclusion Network Conference in which a number of the firm’s partners met to discuss how mentorship and sponsorship have helped them in their career growth. The participants also share helpful career advice and insightful tips on how to seek and cultivate these types of relationships within a law firm. The segment opens up with an introduction from the firm’s Chief Diversity & Talent Strategy Officer Sandra Bang and is then moderated by senior associate Jonathan Toffolo with partners Paula Anderson, Kieran Kieckhefer, Derrick Lott, and Gillian Emmett Moldowan who sat in as the panelists.
