OPTIMIZING LONDON AS A GLOBAL FINANCIAL CENTER

Partner Barney Reynolds spoke at the 2021 Financial Times Global Banking Summit on the Thought Leaders Panel: “Optimizing London as a Global Financial Center” on December 2, 2021.

Appearing on the panel with Barney were Baroness Helena Morrissey (Non-Executive Director and Chair-Designate, AJ Bell), Miles Celic (Chief Executive Officer, TheCityUK) and moderator Brooke Masters (Chief Business Commentator, Financial Times). The group had a lively discussion about topics including whether the U.K. government’s plan for financial services regulatory reform should be focused on safely capturing globalized business for the City, whether the reforms are going far and fast enough, and if the U.K. regulators are being competitive in their supervisory methods.
