Chatham House Global Capital Markets Conference

  • London

Partner John Adams (London), head of the UK Investment Funds Group, spoke at the Chatham House Global Capital Markets Conference on Thursday, March 23 in London.

This Chatham House “City Series” conference assessed the current geo-economic and macroeconomic environment in Europe, North America and the Asia-Pacific region, considering prospects for investment at a time of regulatory uncertainty and political change. Discussions provided a timely opportunity to assess the implications of the UK’s vote to leave the EU and what the UK government’s pledge to exit the Single Market will mean in terms of policy, regulation, business operations, cross-border capital flows and London’s position as a financial center.

Adams spoke on the Brexit and Global Capital Markets panel along with Paul Andrews, Secretary General, IOSCO; Sharon Donnery, Deputy Governor, Central Banking, Central Bank of Ireland; and Robert Barnes, CEO, Turquoise, and Head of Primary Markets and UK Buyside, London Stock Exchange Group. The session was moderated by Dan Waters, Managing Director, ‎ICI Global.
