On November 21, Shearman & Sterling hosted a client event in the Frankfurt office on the validity of upfront fees in finance transactions in light of recent court rulings by the German Federal Court of Justice (Bundesgerichtshof).

Gerd Nobbe, former presiding judge of the so-called Banking Senate of the Federal Court of Justice, gave an overview of recent case law of the Federal Court of Justice and engaged in a lively discussion with the attending representatives of more than 20 banks.
