Panelists shared practical insights on prioritizing board risk oversight, preparing for new disclosure requirements and supporting  organizations as environmental and social actors.

Partner Richard Alsop (New York–Capital Markets) presented opening remarks highlighting how active the SEC has been on the rulemaking front, noting the significant proposals for mandated climate-related disclosure, 10b5-1 plans, issuer share repurchases, cybersecurity and beneficial ownership reporting.

During her fireside chat, partner Gillian Emmett Moldowan (New York–Compensation, Governance & ERISA) elaborated on recent SEC proposals relating to climate change disclosure and human capital management. She shared insights relating to the proposals and provided practical tips for corporate secretaries to begin navigating the shift from voluntary to mandatory reporting.
