Shearman & Sterling hosted the 7th Annual Nordic American Life Science Conference at its New York City global headquarters, 599 Lexington Avenue, on December 7-8, 2022.
At the conference, partners Bjorn Bjerke, Ilir Mujalovic and Harald Halbhuber participated in various programs including December 8th’s keynote titled “Nordic & US Healthcare: Capital Markets Trends & Outlook” with Carsten Borring (Head of Listings & Capital Markets, Nasdaq Denmark), moderated by Andreas Dirnagl (Senior Advisor – Healthcare, DNB) and December 7th’s panel titled “Trends in Life Science Partnering and Financing” with Anthony G. Rapsomanikis (Managing Director, HealthCare Royalty Partners), Dennis Ford, (CEO, Life Science Nation) and Vasilios Kofitsas (Managing Director, Investment Banking, Back Bay Life Science Advisors), moderated by Jonathan P. Gertler (CEO, Back Bay Life Science Advisors).
Taking place over the course of two days, the 7th Nordic American Life Science Conference brought together leading Nordic biotechnology, medtech and healthtech companies and their investors for networking opportunities with industry leaders, innovation-driven organizations, corporate development organizations, and investors.
Expert-led panel discussions and workshops were held, touching on industry trends and challenges, including business challenges in new technologies (CAR T, microbiome, mRNA), critical issues in digital healthcare development, impact of current public markets on life science deals, nordic equity valuations and alternative financing, partnering trends.
The conference was hosted in collaboration with DNB, Nasdaq, Business Sweden, Back Bay Life Science Advisors, Innovation Norway and Business Finland.
