Cook Named Vice-Chair of World Nuclear Association Law Working Group

Shearman & Sterling associate Helen Cook has been named Vice-Chair of the World Nuclear Association Law Working Group. Based in Washington, DC, Cook is one of the leaders of the firm’s Global Nuclear Group.

The World Nuclear Association (WNA) is the international organization that represents the global nuclear industry. Its mission is to promote a wider understanding of nuclear energy among key international influencers by producing authoritative information, developing common industry positions, and contributing to the energy debate, as well as to pave the way for expanding nuclear business.

“It is always a great honor to work with your peers,” Cook said. “Our Law Working Group has an important contribution to make to the WNA, and through this forum we can raise awareness of the important legal issues that affect the nuclear industry.”

Shearman & Sterling’s Global Nuclear Group works in concert with the firm’s Project Development & Finance Group, focusing on procurement, construction and financing for nuclear new build and offering nuclear industry advice on international nuclear law, nuclear liability and nuclear trade issues.
