Shearman & Sterling Premieres ‘Reflections’ Videos

Global law firm Shearman & Sterling has introduced a new video series—“Reflections”—that features client experiences and firm reminiscences from former firm partners. These videos will complement the firm’s “Making History” video series, which to date has examined the firm’s role in the Iran hostage crisis and the Latin America debt crisis.

Hosted on the firm’s website , these 5-7 minute videos include personal stories—some funny, some poignant—about the partners’ time with the firm and the storied history of Shearman & Sterling.

“We have really enjoyed reconnecting with a number of our illustrious alumni for these video shoots, and they have been very enthusiastic participants,” said David Beveridge, Shearman & Sterling’s Global Managing Partner. “Even though these ‘Reflections’ videos focus on our past, we believe they are very instructive and valuable today.”

Featured in the first five “Reflections” videos are:

  • Hans Angermueller, a long-time partner and later Vice Chairman and General Counsel of Citicorp
  • Emily Berlin, who spent more than 25 years at Shearman & Sterling and was one of the firm’s first female partners
  • Former Senior Partner Robert Carswell, who also served as Deputy Secretary of the US Department of the Treasury
  • John Weiser, a former partner and general counsel and director of the Bechtel Group
  • Myles Whalen, a former partner whose history with the firm spanned more than 30 years

Additional videos are in production and will be posted in the coming weeks.
