The United States has long been a jurisdiction of choice for international arbitration proceedings, and US courts generate a large number of decisions and rulings on a wide variety of arbitration topics.
Shearman & Sterling has launched its US International Arbitration Digest website (US IA Digest) as a way of providing a centralized resource for newly released decisions issued by US courts. The US IA Digest collects in one place important US-related decisions issued since January 1, 2016, compiled and organized into categories that are most relevant and useful to practitioners and other interested parties. The Digest will be updated on a rolling basis as new decisions are issued.
Users are quickly able to retrieve the cited decisions needed by filtering the content by date or searching under the following categories:
In addition, the website provides a number of additional arbitration resources of interest, including links to relevant US statutes, treaties, arbitral institutions and practice guides
“With this unique website, users can access a collection of relevant arbitration decisions in one place,” said Henry Weisburg, a New York-based partner in the international arbitration practice. “It is meant to be a quality ‘one stop shop’ for US decisions relating to international arbitration.”
Christopher Ryan, also a Washington, DC-based international arbitration partner, commented, “The website will be further developed and expanded as more content becomes available, keeping it up-to-date and fresh, while archiving older material.”
