Shearman & Sterling has once again been recognized as a top litigation firm in Benchmark Litigation’s 2018 edition, which focuses on the top litigation firms and litigators in the United States. 

The overall Litigation Group was rated “highly recommended,” the highest designation, with the team ranked “Tier 1” (the top tier) for securities and highly ranked for white collar, general commercial litigation and international arbitration as well.  Three partners (Stuart Baskin, Stephen Fishbein, Adam Hakki) were selected as national “Litigation Stars," and five partners (Stuart Baskin, Stephen Fishbein, Adam Hakki, John Nathanson, Richard Schwed) were selected as “Local Litigation Stars.”  An additional six partners (Paula Anderson, Agnès Dunogué, Daniel Laguardia, Mark Lanpher, Christopher LaVigne, Daniel Lewis) were selected as “Future Stars” or “Top Litigators Under 40.” 

The guide notes the prominence of Shearman & Sterling's litigation practice, which is at the forefront of “headline-making litigation on a global basis” and further recognizes the group’s “experience and acumen with matters of the securities and white-collar and FCPA enforcement variety.”
