Shearman & Sterling is representing Fallbrook Technologies Inc. and certain of its affiliates in their voluntary chapter 11 cases commenced in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.  Fallbrook invented and patented the NuVinci® “continuously variable planetary” transmission, which is a technology that enhances performance and improves efficiency in all types of machinery, vehicles and equipment by using a set of rotating and tilting spheres between the input and output components of a transmission.  The company filed the bankruptcy cases after completing a restructuring support agreement with certain holders of its secured and unsecured notes as well as trade debt.
