Shearman & Sterling Strengthens Tax Practice with Counsel Dr. Christoph Götz

Global law firm Shearman & Sterling announces the appointment of Dr. Christoph Götz as counsel in its Tax practice in Munich, effective September 1, 2021.

Christoph is an expert in national and international tax law and has been a member of the management board of O&R Oppenhoff & Rädler AG since 2012. Previously, he worked for Linklaters in Munich and Luxemburg for eight years. He has particular experience in advising on tax-related structurings of M&A and private equity transactions, joint ventures, restructurings and financing transactions as well as compliance matters.

“Christoph has significant international experience and is a great fit for the expansion of our German cross-border M&A and private equity practice,” said Florian Harder, Head of the German offices of Shearman & Sterling.

“Christoph is a great addition to our team. We have known him for many years, and he will considerably strengthen and enhance our team professionally as well as personally,” added Jann Jetter, German Tax Partner.

Since the Munich office opening and the appointment of Florian Harder and Jann Jetter in March 2021, the practice in Munich has added several team members including counsel Chloé Lignier and Veronika Montes, and eight associates.
