Shearman & Sterling ranked among top Asia-related SPAC legal advisers by Asia Business Law Journal

Shearman & Sterling has been ranked among the top legal advisers for Asia-related SPACs for the 12 months from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021, according to Asia Business Law Journal.

The firm was ranked No. 6 legal adviser to issuers and underwriters by value and deal count and No. 5 legal adviser to underwriters by value and deal count.

In the past year, Shearman & Sterling has continued to be active in advising on SPAC-related transactions including Prenetics’ business combination with Artisan Acquisition Corp. and Black Spade Acquisition Co’s $169 million SPAC US IPO.

Asia Regional Managing Partner and Head of Greater China Lorna Chen was also quoted by Asia Business Law Journal in the accompanying article titled “Asian bourses playing catch-up.” The article discusses how regional stock exchanges are contemplating new SPAC regimes in order to leverage the appetite for SPACs.
