Lorenz Haselberger, Partner in Shearman & Sterling’s tax practice, was recently selected to join to the New York State Bar Association Tax Section Executive Committee as Member-At-Large.

The New York State Bar Association Tax Section has a preeminent role in commenting on proposed tax legislation and proposed regulatory guidance at the federal, state and local levels and also engages in other activities including testifying before Congress, holding semi-annual meetings and sponsoring ad hoc conferences.

Haselberger’s practice focuses primarily on the taxation of financial instruments and financial institutions as well as the tax aspects of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, inbound investments, capital markets offerings and debt restructurings. He regularly advises major financial institutions, sovereign investors, hedge funds, private equity funds and domestic and multinational companies.
