Global law firm Shearman & Sterling’s FinTech Foundry wins Best Cryptocurrency Information Source by FinTech Breakthrough Awards. FinTech Foundry by Shearman is a global program committed to supporting the start-ups, incumbents and investors who are shaping the future of financial services. The FinTech Breakthrough Awards program, now in its 7th year, recognizes today’s breakthrough companies and products in the global financial services and technology industry.

FinTech Foundry by Shearman is a unique initiative in the legal industry established by Shearman & Sterling in 2018. The initiative is committed to providing multi-disciplinary legal and industry knowledge, thought leadership, and a forum to connect key participants in the wider FinTech ecosystem, with aims to help build a FinTech ecosystem that benefits all.

FinTech Foundry was founded atop three key pillars, all designed to evolve the ecosystem’s landscape:

FINTECH SALONS bring together leaders in the ecosystem to share insights and trends shaping the future of financial services and FinTech. We regularly host online and in person events on key topics and to bring people together. We hosted our inaugural Digital Finance Summit in November 2022 in New York/ livestream, which explored how emerging technologies are disrupting the financial services sector, how traditional institutions are adapting to the changing market, and the race to regulate. The 2023 event is scheduled to take place in the fall.

FINTECH ADVISORY is our global mentorship program providing FinTech startups with access to legal and industry knowledge during the entire life cycle of a company. We host workshops and mentoring for FinTech startups in partnership with Rise by Barclays and have advised diverse early-stage entrepreneurs through Plaid’s Accelerate incubator program. We also offer teach-ins with non-profits, such as The Nature Conservancy, to help them better understand and operate in the FinTech space.

FINTECH INSIGHTS provides industry knowledge and know-how to keep companies aware of developments in the legal space that may affect their companies. We regularly publish articles through our column in Reuters, on our dedicated Twitter account and blog. To tap the momentum created by the 2022 Digital Finance Summit, we released several articles and recordings on topics that include crypto and financial stability risks, SEC and CFTC crypto enforcement and litigation Issues, web 3.0 disruption, ESG and FinTech.
