Shearman & Sterling Advises Anglo American on Its $1 Billion Senior Notes Offering

Shearman & Sterling advised Anglo American plc in connection with the offering of its $300 million 3.750% senior notes due 2022 and $700 million 4.750% senior notes due 2027. The notes were issued by Anglo American Capital plc and guaranteed by Anglo American plc. 

Anglo American, one of the world's largest mining companies, is headquartered in the UK and listed on the London and Johannesburg stock exchanges. It is a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index. Anglo American is a global leader in the production of platinum and diamonds and has significant interests in metallurgical and thermal coal, copper and iron ore and manganese metals.
