Shearman & Sterling Private Equity partner Alain Dermarkar has been recognized by Texas Lawbook as a top dealmaker in the state of Texas for 2023. Over the course of the year, Alain advised clients in 13 transactions valued at $3.27 billion.

The Lawbook’s 2023 dealmakers list includes 491 Texas lawyers who were the lead or co-lead legal advisors for buyers, sellers and targets in transactions announced last year. In all, these 491 Texas dealmakers were the lead or co-lead on 1,326 transactions with a combined deal value of $889.5 billion.

Alain Dermarkar is a partner in the Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions practices and Co-Head of the firm’s Private Equity Group. His practice focuses on national and international mergers and acquisitions, takeover preparedness and special purpose acquisition companies.
