Global law firm Shearman & Sterling today announces that Kok Jin Ong (Jin) is joining the firm's global Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) practice as a counsel in Singapore.
As part of a broad M&A and joint venture practice across multiple industries, Jin specialises in energy and infrastructure M&A in the Asia-Pacific region, with a particular focus on renewables and other power transactions and joint ventures. In addition to his extensive experience of M&A and joint venture work in the renewables and broader power space, Jin also has a strong track record in oil and gas and infrastructure transactions.
This appointment follows the arrival of leading energy and infrastructure partner David Clinch and the promotion of M&A partner Richard Porter in Singapore last year and comes hot on the heels of the firm's hiring of M&A partner Maegen Morrison in London.
Jin joins Shearman & Sterling from Herbert Smith Freehills where he worked extensively with David Clinch prior to David joining Shearman & Sterling.
