Shearman & Sterling today announced that New York Finance partner Ronan Wicks has relocated to its London office, joining European Finance partner Steve Sherman to bolster the firm’s sophisticated European and US finance capabilities with a particular focus on the Term Loan B market.
Wicks focuses on advising financial institutions in connection with acquisition financings, asset-based facilities, workouts, general financings and special situations, including in the middle market. With extensive experience advising US clients issuing Term Loan B loans, Wicks and Sherman will work closely with European clients to provide US and NY legal counsel on the rapidly evolving Term Loan B market in addition to broader aspects regarding the US debt capital markets such as investment grade acquisition financing.
Anthony Ward, head of Shearman & Sterling’s European Finance practice, said: “As we see an increasing number of European clients turn to the Term Loan B market for their funding needs, Ronan and Steve will be working with our clients in the UK and Europe to further enhance our cross-border capabilities and apply knowledge from the US market into European structures.”
Sherman transferred to London from the firm’s New York office in 2014. He represents financial and corporate clients in private US and cross-border debt and equity financing transactions, including acquisition financings, bankruptcy and reorganizations.
For more than 140 years, Shearman & Sterling has provided clients around the world with market insight and unparalleled experience on a broad range of complex financing transactions, including leveraged finance, asset-based lending, structured finance, derivatives and structured products, and investment-grade financing.
