New York City Issues New Rules for Asbestos Projects

In an effort to improve asbestos abatement project safety, New York City is implementing new reporting, certification, permitting and record-keeping rules governing the city's Asbestos Control Program. These rules require building owners to submit information to regulators and obtain regulatory approval in connection with asbestos abatement projects that disturb more than 25 linear feet or more than 10 square feet of asbestos-containing material.
