Shearman & Sterling has been acknowledged for advising on three prize winning deals at the Project Finance International (PFI) Awards 2022, which honor achievement and ingenuity in the global project finance market.

The projects to receive awards on which the firm advised include:

• AMEA Power Project, which was named as Global ESG Deal of the Year. Shearman & Sterling advised IFC in connection with the financing to Amunet Wind Power Company to develop a wind power plant in Egypt, the largest wind farm in Egypt.
  
  
• The Helios Project (NEOM), which was named as the Middle East & Africa Green Deal of the Year. Shearman & Sterling advised NEOM Company, Saudi Arabia’s new city gigaproject development company, on a $6.5 billion green energy joint venture with ACWA Power and Air Products that will incorporate the region’s largest wind and solar renewables production projects (4 GW in total), more than 400 MW of battery storage and a ground-breaking green hydrogen / green ammonia export project.
  
  
• The Abu Dhabi Lightning Project, which was named as the Middle East & Africa Power Deal of the Year. Shearman & Sterling advised EBL lenders on the financing of an offshore transmission project in Abu Dhabi. The project will comprise power transmission assets to two offshore clusters of oil and gas production facilities with a combined length of 270 km and transmission capacity of 1,600MW.
